Living on the river bank

Living on a canal or riverboat used to mean a labouring life during the British industrial revolution but today the times have changed and a new generation of boaters are emerging.
With the UK housing prices on the rise many people have decided to live cheaper by giving up the comforts of a proper home. A lot of individuals are adopting a new lifestyle by settling on this ‘former working environment’ – the British waterways.
The Bristol River Avon is one of those places where more and more people go looking for a less pricey yet quite adventurous way of life.
These pictures talk about a contemporary lifestyle and portray some of the people that opted to live on a boat along the scenic stretch of the river banks between Bristol and Bath.
